Default Nav question

Hi all!
Just got a Q7 1100 miles ago and absolutely love it.

I see that the latest nav DVD from Navteq is ver.8. My DVD is marked as 2007 on the disk and the case. I'm guessing that the version 8 is the start of a new numbering system and would be the equivalent of 2008.

I'm about to pull the trigger on ordering version 8, but I just want to be sure I'm not purchasing the version I already own.

Thanks,
Reed

You can check the nav version through the MMI, don't buy it though cause the dealer updates are free

While MMI system software updates are free, Navteq map database updates are not free.

Yes, thus the reason Audi sells them for $199 at audiusa.com.

Don't waste your money. I bought version 8 which is exactly the same as the one I had before. I'm sure there are map data updates here and there but nothing worth the $199.
The dealer may update the MMI for you if there is any available for free, but you have to purchse the latest DVD disc directly from Navtech.com if you realy want it for $199
