Fix or replace right rear view mirror on Q7
I was driving around a curve next to a chain link fence with green mesh on it and swerved toward the right (driving in USA!) to avoid a car coming the other way and my right rear view mirror scraped against the fence even though my wheels were still on the road.
The olastic housing for the mirror popped inwards and the glass inside popped out. I was able to reinsert the glass part of the mirror but when I attempt to adjust the mirror the glass pops out again.
Has anybody had this type of problem with their rear view mirror before?
What is the worst case scenario (i.e. replacing the mirror)? Does it cost a fortune? What are the chances that this problem can be fixed without replacing the mirror?
Thanks for the help - I need to evaluate my options before telling my wife what I did to the car!

I visited a body shop and the dealer yesterday to resolve the problem.
The body shop gave me a schematic of the rear view mirror construction with a price list of all of the prices for the components. $400+ for the glass and $500+ for the motor! Fortunately none of this was significantly damaged - the Audi service advisor was able to "pop the mirror back in".
