Audi "dissing" S Lines in 2008...Also photos wanted
So, Audi has just informed dealers that the S-Line package on any 2008 model results in a 2% reduction in the residual. That means almost a 50% increase in the cost of the options. Not real great.
About to purchase a 2008 Q7 in Calla White/Black with Panoramic roof, Air Suspension and Premium leather. Trying to decide whether to get S Line, or skip that and add the Cold Weather. Makes a $60 a month difference in the payment. That's pretty big.
Would really appreciate it if folks could post some photos of Non-Sline Calla White Q7s with 20 inch wheels. Might help me make the decision. TIA

Ted, see this pic...

The dealer is correct in the additional 2% hit. The S-Line package is worth nothing at auction (which is where all cars go after their leases end), so the leasee (you) has to pay the full depretiation of the package.
I ordered a 2008 Calla White, 3.6P and I didn't want to pay the extra money for the S-Line look. I also hate the black interior. So instead I ordered the 5 spoke 20" wheels (which are now an option for MY2008) and I'm having the bottom gray trim painted white.
I took the image builder from the Audi website and Photoshoped it a bit to get an idea of what my truck is gonna look like. Here it is. Hope it helps!

Thanks...
I also have pretty much concluded that the S-Line, as much as I love the look, isn't worth it for me. I'm now down to two vehicles...
The Q7 4.2 Premium, with Air Suspension, Premium Leather, Cold Weather and Panoramic Roof, or the Range Rover Sport with Sirius Radio and Cold Weather.
Was totally blown away by the way the RR drove. See my other posting.

No, the painted trim won't affect the residual. Also...
the dealer is printing the trim so it will be considered a DIO (dealer installed option) part of the leased vehicle. The trim is still fully covered under the facory warranty.
