2015 Q7 TDI Valve Cover Breather Hose Removal?! For Valve Cover Removal.
I have searched up and down this forum and have found no one with a TDI doing this as they have different covers (plastic vs metal and looks to be a different hose tab style.) Please for the love of god someone tell me they know how to get this off without breaking it.
(hose with a green dot.) I am trying to remove the valve cover as my injectors failed and melted the cover.
Green dot hose has that weird tab in front but it doesnt do anything.
from the side
from the other side hidden behind connector wiring.

1.8 ltr TTs have a similar connector on the secondary air intake hose. Try squeezing both sides where the indents are and pulling.

Yeah, there's likely a special tool, but here's a video of 'one way' to get that connector off, which may enlighten you to the process, or a better solution. FWIW, I will say that most of the connectors on these engines are generally pretty simple to remove by hand once you understand how they function/lock, etc.

For all future people who decide to change a valve cover left bank (drivers side) on the 2015 audi Q7 TDI to remove said hose get TWO right angle picks you can buy at any hardware store a set of them and the bottom half of said hose actually doesnt have the lip blocking a pick from entering think of that wall as a half moon only on the top half. Use one pick and gently slide it in and pry up while you use the other pick to slide around the top half above that half moon wall. If you have help use them to slightly pull on the hose while you do your movements and boom pops off like a charm.
