Default 2015 Audi Q7 Bolt in Positive Terminal Under Hood

Hi folks, I own a 2015 Q7, and I would like to install a NOCO Genius2D onboard battery maintainer. The positive terminal , which looks like this,
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/cimg/www.aud...-02-151214.jpg
can have a bolt to hold down the positive connector of the battery maintainer.

I was hoping experts here know what specification is the bolt I need that will fit into the positive terminal?

TiA

you don't wanna hook it up that way.. pop that plastic boot cover off the base there and you'll find a bolt you can attach your onboard charger too.. for the negative post just unscrew it from the chassis.

Thank you for your prompt response, dreadlocks

I see that you have the positive connector cable leading into the vehicle cabin? What is it - also an onboard charger?

If I'd like to install my charger under the hood, where do you suggest the most optimal location be? The NOCO Genius2D is 12.7 x 5.84 x 3.81 cm in dimensions.

Thanks!
Tal

You can jump start you car using this post. The battery is elsewhere (Trunk).

Mike

(use any ground metal for the negative wire, connect POSITIVE FIRST, then ground)

Just an FYI, the battery is under the drivers seat.

He has a NOCO as well, from what I recall. I have leads for a NOCO hooked up to the POS and NEG jump posts on my TDI and my VW CC. On the TDI (and the other two Q7's I've had) I removed both of the posts since they thread on to their respective terminals, and placed the NOCO eyelets there, then screwed the posts back down. One of them had a larger post than the NOCO eyelet, so I used a step-drill bit to enlarge the hole carefully. When I hook my NOCO up (it's larger) it will nestle down in behind the left headlamp and the hood will shut with the cord fed through the body gap at the hood/headlight.

Thanks dreadlocks and cuatrokoop for your insights.

I was able to get the screw off the negative post (shown in green circle)

For the black plastic casing surrounding the positive post, I got stuck. I think I'm supposed to pop it open from the bracket show in black oval.
However, it's pretty stubborn. What's the trick here and what tool did you use?

Thank you,
Tal
