Update: Similar to Carvana, CarBrain.com buys damaged vehicles and those with mechanical problems. They offered $4,400. That may be the best I can do, but I am trying Craigslist before accepting the offer.
I bought it from a small dealership, not directly from an auctioneer.
Thanks to all.

You can have that repaired, possibly without pulling the engine depending if there is room to get in there and work. It's not an ideal fix but given the situation it might be the only one that makes sense unless you want to cut your losses and walk away. Cast aluminum is kind of a PITA to weld up but not for an experienced TIG welder.

What state are you in? I may know someone interested in paying more than that.
I would take it to a fabricator though. There are all sorts of creative ways to fix a problem like this. If there are too many stress cracks to reinforce and attach a new mount you could perhaps create a steel super structure of sorts that taps into multiple places on the block to distribute the stress.

I posted to Seattle Craigslist and got nibbles, I raised the price and got still more nibbles, so I pulled down the ad. for now. Then I showed this thread to my wife, raising hope that it can be fixed (or at least raising the value somewhat). Yes, I spoke to an aluminum welder who said that the the cracks could be ground and filled, but he'd prefer to have it on a bench. He might have room to work on a creeper if the fender, et. al. was removed. That won't work for me to arrange, but I'll make further calls after the holiday. Thanks!

Good call. If you can get away with the Fab without pulling the engine you might be into for $500 to $2k depending on the extent of the repair. If it's a good car now besides that it's way better than eating your shorts on the whole thing.

Update: I sold the car today through CL as-is to a mechanic from the next state over who will try to rebuild it for his wife. Got $7,000. Thanks for again for advice.
