2012 Q7 - towing - trailer brake not working
Having issues with the trailer brake, stopped working, only 4.8V or so on pin.
Traced wires from the towing module (right side of trunk). 5 of the 6 show continuity, but the one for the brake shows 1400 Ohm.
The harness goes from the module to the hitch, but there is a 'trail' branching of with 2 pin connector.
Does anyone know where that connects?
Anyone have wiring diagram for the 2012 towing module?

Using this?
All that old school testing with a light isn't really effective with these cars.

As noted in your other thread, the tow wire harness from the controller to the 7 pin connector on hitch has offshoots that connect to grounding inside at rear right of cargo area, as well as the two-pin connector that plugs into the car's 'prewired' brake controller harness, which is found near the grounding at extreme rear of the cargo hold; plug wrapped in foam, etc. Likewise the wire harness terminates in a female plug, which the external (male) 7 pin connector plugs into. Verify all connections and be sure the harness to 7pin interface is clean and has dielectric grease to keep things happy and corrosion free back there. Same on exterior plug connectors; dab a little dielectric grease.
