07 Q7 MMI malfunction
Hi all- sorry if this topic has been covered - I haven't checked in for a long time
My 07 MMI has been erratic for a long time - and as predicted - I've been told by the Audi tech that roof drain is clogged and has leaked moisture onto one of the MMI modules and fried it. Audi wants in excess of $4K to repair - removing headliner etc.
I'm certain that others have encountered this problem since it's clearly a design flaw.
Would appreciate any feedback - comments - personal experiences
thanks!

You bought the car after Audi warranty ran out... but they knew about the problem prior to your purchase. I doubt it helps. There are TSB numbers in the spreadsheet (the fourth sheet I think).
Its been well covered. Poor frame design in original production. Bad drain attachment system. Bad choice of drain pipe material. All later replaced.
Go to Audi push them on the fact that they knew there was an inherent problem but they never notified you so you had no opportunity to take pre-emptive action.
Push them, they will cave, its not your fault. They generally bring it down to about 2.5k or was that they generally cover 2.5k? I forget!
Anyway someone crunched the numbers a long time ago and decided they would just do it case by case. Audi AG has already paid Audi USA a fixed sum so Audi USA just argue the toss each time. I think they are winning.
Scour the spreadsheet for as many cases as possible, any TSBs, dates and any other settlements and go argue!
If it was me Id offer 1500 bucks and tell them to claim the rest from Audi. (except Im in Ireland) and I don't have a sunroof
