you can do anywhere between 18-20mm front and 23-30mm rear.
make sure they're hubcentric and you purchase the extended bolts required to mount properly. use anti-seize grease on both sides of the spacers to avoid the pieces fusing together from heat or rust or any other variable.

rare... not too many people put spacers on and retain stock height... it draws attention to the wheel gap and makes the vehicle look taller. (IMO)

even though the height doesn't change the wheel gap is accentuated because now you can see exactly where the tire ends but without the spacer it is recessed into the wheel well camouflaging the actual gap.
