Default So I just installed aftermarket running boards.

Today, I installed aftermarket(Romik) running boards on my Q7 and I think they are awesome. IMO, they look better than OEM boards because they look thicker but I hope they were little bit wider. I bought them from Auto Anything and paid $417 including shipping with special promo. For 1/3 price of OEM boards, you can't beat them.

Here are some pics.

I also got new front filler plate since my state doesn't require front license plate. It looks million times better!

Q7er that looks great I was also looking at doing this. I got 1 question: when the doors are closed how far does the running boards stick out? Could you take a picture similar to your 4th picture above but with the door closed?
thanks

I have also been looking at these but my Q is Lava Grey so I was leaning toward the powder coated black. They look nice and please give details of the install process. Also, I have seen 2 inch extensions for the Romik running boards which helps them extend out farther.

Default An alternative...

Looks good! Probably more practical than the ones i got. They are only acessable when you open the door. Excellent for the kids. Without them my 5 and 3 year old would have problems entering the car. I believe they are the same type as europrice sell (ABT Side steps). Looks the same.Name: 6.jpg

Q7er,
Those Romik boards look great, better than the pics I have seen of the OEM Audi boards. The Audi Boards require use of a different jack, are the mounting points covered with the Romik boards? Stock jack still useable?
Thanks

They look like the boards on my Dad's Ford Explorer, I'm still glad I opted for the oem boards but to each his own, glad you're happy with them.

Interesting, I think the OEM ones look like the bars from my '92 Pathfinder. While everyone may not agree on the look, its pretty easy to compare the value against the OEM boards.

I picked up the Romik boards in powder black from Autoanything and am pleased with the look. They could stick out a little bit further to get a good step up, so I may try the extension kit to see if that helps. FYI, the Romik logo peals off with a fingernail.

Default Where can I buy this OEM running Boards?

Folks, great thread...

1. Can anyone please advise where I can buy this OEM running boards? Is Romik the best one out there?

2. Will the dealer install it for a fee?

Quick Reply: So I just installed aftermarket running boards.
