2007 Q7 wet amp
So here is my story my Q7 sunroof drain system failed and it ruin my MMI system (nothing new). So thankfully there is enough information out there now to do a lot of things yourself like: fix the drain system a lot better than Audi dealership and for 1% of the cost.
I fixed the drain system and starting saving some cash to get my MMI fix. I figured about 2 grand according to what people have said they pay and pretty much for the parts and labor.
Well finally I saved up money to take it to the dealership to get fix. first they don't have a loan vehicle for me, so I end up with no loan vehicle for about a week. Then I have to constantly call them to ask for and update cause the guy there doesn't have 2 min of his time to do so. When he finally has something to share (5 days later) he tells me that Im looking at $2310 about $1500 for amp and 6 hours labor @ $135.
So I said ok that fine, when will it be ready?(this is Tuesday) he says tomorrow afternoon. Well tomorrow comes he doesn't call I didn't call just cause I figured he would of called if it was ready. So Thursday comes and he tells me that there still working on it because there having issues programming it.
Its been two weeks from the day I drop it off. So I get a call from the guy on Saturday saying they need to spend more hours of labor and its going to be about $3000 now. I tell him that its fine but I need to know in detail what are they doing and to be more attentive on what is going on with my vehicle. He agrees.
Monday comes up and another guys calls and tells me that apparently they need to replace two more parts and that one part alone is $2700 so now I'm looking at $6000! I laughed and tell ask him if he really thinks I'm going to pay 6 grand for this? he says that he will see what he can do to do some discounts and I say there is no way you are going to give me a $3000 discount and surely I won't pay more.
He said he will call me back with some options (after markett if its even possible).
Anyways at this point I'm thinking of selling the damn thing.
