Default Q7 with a flat bottom steering wheel

So this week my flat bottom steering wheel arrived. I was surprised how simple it was to fit, it took around 5 minutes and IMO looks much better. Feels more sporty as well.

Old standard wheel removed

I tried searching Google and here on the forum to see if anyone else had done it, to see if it was possible but couldn't see any pics. Just thought I'd share with you all that it's possible but the plug is different. The seller I bought it from was able to get me the correct yellow/pink one so it was plug and play.

Looks good! What year is your Q and where'd you buy the wheel from?
It's not a factory Q7 wheel though, right? From an S4/5/6 or something?

My past car had the flat bottom and I think it looks way better than current wheel. However, I don't think you will find one for cheap, here is one on ebay for $1200

Man, that looks GREAT!! Really wish they offered this as a standard for any S-Line variants! Well done!

Nice job. Did it include the airbag or did you re-use the original ?

Are there any flat bottomed steering wheels which are HEATED? I don't want to lose that functionality on from my cold weather pkg.

Sorry for late reply guys, been busy at work. I agree it should have been a standard option on the Q7, it's much better than the standard black one with no chrome.

My cars a 2007 model

Yes I think it's from a S3 or S4. It has a different plug but the seller sourced the correct fitting and had it all wired up ready for me to fit.

It came with the airbag, the one from the old wheel is square and the flat bottom wheel is circular.

I don't think any of them are heated. All the heated ones are the 4 spoke type I think.

Here is where I got it:

He has one left and I'm sure he'd be happy to source the right plug for any other Q7 owners

Did these DGS Steering Wheels ever come in the beige trim, or only blank?
