My mechanic says my valve cover gaskets are leaking (oil on the spark plugs), esp. the left side, but can't find just the outer left gasket. He can find the other 3 (inner left, outer right, inner right), but Audi is telling him to get the outer left I need a new valve cover, at some huge price!

Is this true, or is there some different (cheaper but 'proper') fix here? Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome...
