Got them in, that was a shockingly fiddly swap over, surely that's not how its done, I had to rip one of the stock filters into small pieces and the other scraped the skin off my knuckles to the extent that Audi would have technicians walking out if they had that job to do?

Im not expecting miracles or anything, even a 1 mpg saving at the pump is enough considering these filters cost me £0 as I had them already whereas buying stock ones would be £50 or something.

BMC like K&N are world renowned and if they gave so many problems to so many people they would be out of business. Im sure you have a point to some extent but Im ok with that, especially given the pain in the *** this was to change.

Thank god it wont happen again in my ownership

Tempted to go for this on my 4.2 TDI. I believe i need part number: 33-2857

So far the best deal i've seen in the UK is from opieoils using discount code: CORNISHJDM

Gets you x2 filters for £86.38 delivered.

Just debating whether to go for it or not. I have my 4.2 TDI running at 400bhp.

Its 2007 and 326HP standard.

I have a great tuner who also has the same car as mine but 2008 model, however his has 180,000 miles on the clock!. Mine only 92k. He has tuned his car to 400HP, and driven more than 100k miles like it. It is a hard but safe tune. And he also tuned my car using the same file with a little adjustment. The tune cost me £70 as i have the tuning equipment, so did it myself. OMG it is an absolute beast now and just feels so much smoother. I mean for a stock car previously it was smooth comparing with other cars, but honestly this map/tune really gave it a new lease of life.

The only performance mod i have other than that is i had the backbox removed and pipes welded in its place from a company i found locally on the topgear website, that cost £170 i think it was. The sound of the exhaust is brilliant.

I was thinking of gutting the DPF's, but opted against it in the end. The only thing with a tune up like mine is, you must keep an eye on the DPF's and make sure they don't get clogged up. Otherwise say bye bye to the turbo.

I have the later 340 bhp 4.2 with the zf8 box but running a dms upgrade to 400 and the gearbox mapped to cope including torque limit in 1,2&3. Is it possible for a sound clip as have thought the same about the exhaust. Are you sure you have dpf's (1 per bank) on your 07?

I would really recommend the backbox jobby i did. Not only will you lose something like 20/30KG but you'll get a very nice tone to it.

I will do a video soon. But to be honest it pretty much sounds just like this:
