Default ESP and Brake Warning Lights on Dash (Goes into Limp Mode)

Hi all,

I have recently acquired an Audi Q7 which had warning lights on the dash. The issues are as follows:

# The brakes need looking at (according to the dash needs new pads).
# There are warning lights for the tail lights not working.
# The ESP light came on, and the car went into “limp mode”, switching the ESP stopped the limp mode for the remainder of the journey.
# Their is a knocking sound when putting the brakes off and on.
# The boot does not close properly (I think this is the boot catch and noticed the boot lights went out when I pushed the catch inwards while it was open).
# None of the lights on the tailgate work (could be bulbs, but assume something else – connection related - or boot sensor).

Obviously I'll get the brakes and car serviced, but prior to this, I wondered if anyone knew what these issues might be, specifically the ESP light?

Are these issues possibly related?

Any help much appreciated.

Regards,

Ben

Really, we need the codes for the ESP problem - it could be lots of things even down to dirt, or accumulated rusty particles on the sensors - when allied to the information about brake issues.

The tailgate could well simply be the miocroswitch that is part of the rear latch, or even the wiring damaged or disconnected in the spare wheel well. There is a changeover control which changes the tailgate lights over to the rear bumper as the tailgate opens. This is triggered by the switch in the latch mech on the rear panel.

OK, dropping past an Audi specialist tomorrow to see what error codes there are.

Sent my wife, who got the following screenshots:

1 Fault Found
00532 - Supply Voltage B+
002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent

1 Fault Found
00664 - Fuel gauge
002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent

3 Faults Found
03073 - Rear Lid Closed Sensor 1
008 - Implausible Signal
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 01101000
Fault Priority: 5
Fault Frequency: 254
02956 - Lamp in Trunk/Hatch Lid, Left
(scrolls off page)

We had the battery replaced and a couple of bulbs. They have push boot shut for the moment but still says it's open on the dash so assume still need boot sensor and probably the catch mechanism if mechanically difficult to push shut.

NB It's going in for a full service on Monday, but we just wanted to see what error codes there were in case anything specific needed to be ordered in.

Two fuses had gone (one for the power sockets / cigarette lighters in the front). Replacing that got one of them working, but not the other. My guess is it went faulty and took the fuse with it. The 20A fuse in the back is replaced, but brake light still faulty, I guess similar, the brake light went and took the fuse with it.

After replacing the battery I haven't seen the ESP issue re-occur so assume that was a low voltage issue.

The boot is now closing and no warning light, although I'm not sure why that's working to be honest.

Car is being serviced as I speak.

We also replaced the module the battery control module (part number: ba102, 297 GBP) which apparently was sending odd voltages around the car.
