Default Q7 Front end collision pics

Eventful holiday weekend. Rear end collision resulted in this: (picture attached) Luckily no-one (other than a poser) was injured. All three of my kids claim to have not felt a thing! For me it was analogous to going over a speed bump too fast. My question is what now? Details: 2013 Q7 TDI; unable to drive as the tires could't turn; towed to an impound lot where we started the car; smoke billowed out and alarms started going off on dash; air bags did NOT deploy.

Gut reaction, is this fixable or a "total?"

That's some back luck man - glad to hear everyone is okay. Looks fixable to me, but there are so many factors - a 2013 TDI, depending on mileage, is still worth a good amount of $$ so I doubt they would total it.

Default Front and rear impact?

My guess would be totalled, specially if the engine is touched. It really sucks man, glad you walked out with your family safe and sound.

Looks like a total loss the cost to fix that much front end damage on these cars you can just buy another one! There a money pit, then when it's all fixed it will never drive the same to you, there will always be something you hear some knocking noise or steering is off something .. total it get another ..glad your ok though but concerned the airbags didn't deploy?? Does the dealer look at these to determine why no airbag? Was the collision not hard enough? I would think yes since all that front end damage??

Make sure you get a diminished value payment for it from the insurance company...because even when it is all fixed, it won't be worth as much because it's been in an accident.

Christmas 2008.

My new (April 2008) 3.0 TDI Q7 took a high speed side swipe at a "T" junction. It was night, the guy was drunk and had no lights on... I pulled out.

The front of the Q7 was gone from the radiator forward - nothing but bleeding tubes and hoses and two bent engine support forks. The engine was not damaged. Bags did not depoly. The drunk's A3 was totalled. His wife and kid were hospitalised for shock. No one was injured.

They were able to cut and weld the engine supports and the chassis itself was not twisted. They could save the car. The list of parts covered 8 pages of A4.

It cost 30,000 Euros in parts and labor to repair - the cost new over here was 120,000+ Euro. It was off the road for 3 months (ran replacement A6 most of the time - though I did get an R8 for one weekend :-) (the Stealership is owned by a friend of the family)).

Yours doesn't look anywhere near as bad as mine did but it all depends on the impact.

To close, I still drive that Q7 today with zero problems.
