Default Only downside

is that they don't have SD or USB ports, and audio is via FM transmitter (or headsets) only.

I found someone selling these for $600 so that's why I am very tempted!

Default Audio

With the Dension GW 500 Aux box for RCAs I get the audio through the car speakers without FM transmiter.

Here's another good aftermarket solution. I just leased a 09 Q7 3.6 and wanted rear DVD, but did not want to permanently install anything on a leased car. I plan on getting a pair of the Vogels Headrest DVDocks + Sony DVP-FX820 players.

Vogels DVDock

I did not like the invision because they are bulky, vizualogic are better fit 7" headrest. Also you can get a very nice VMOD device (video/music/Internet/sirius/navigation).

AAAAAAAAAAH Come on you bought yourself a brand new Q7 and you are going to work with a portable DVD or a cheap rooftop. Go for quality! and you have to look at it a few years. Look at my pics built it for a customer.

That looks great! Where do you get those, and how much do they go for?

We have the Rosen installed by CarToys last year in our 2011 Q7. I did a lot of research and i went with Rosen because of the following.

- Dual indenpendant DVDs. I can have 2 different movie play or same movie on both
- Factory match headrest. look and feel are identical to the OEM, good quality
- Additional warranty if installed within 30 days
- USB and RCA connection at each headrest + additional input at the box
- FM Modulator, play movie thru an FM channel
- Wireless headphones and Wireless Game controller
- We have an older 40GB iPod connected to the Box via RCA, now i don't even have to burn DVDs, i can just load up the ipod and play.

I got everything installed for $1300... much cheaper than dealer so you have to shop around.
