It was the mid-range S model with 4motion and cloth seats. No extra options, but basic with cloth, and retailed for around ~29,500.
Personally, I REALLY liked it. Looks great, much better then the CR-V, Rouge, etc. Didn't get to drive it because the dealer only had one and was hiding it out back. Drove around to see if the Jetta TDI demos came in, and behold, there was a White Tiguan. It was open, so sat in it. The 1st two rows are VERY ROOMY. I have just about Q7-ish room in the second row, however the trunk is VERY SMALL, compared to the likes of the RAV-4, but it probably could fit a couple suitcases, so no problem.
The new dash looked great, and everything felt well put together. Even saw some interior parts from Audi, such as the 12V slot plug cover.
Overall, I felt it was a great car, which will be a grand slam for VW, but they will only sell a ton if they bring put the new 2.0TDI from the Jetta into the Tig, give it 4 motion, and sell it.
We'll probably end up getting a Jetta TDI Wagen this fall, use it until the Tig 4motion TDI comes out, and then get the Tig TDI. With TDI resale values, where they are now, resaleing a TDI shouldn't be any problem.
