Default Who has the best deal on Q5 engine oil?

I want to buy a couple of quarts of oil in case I need to top off my 2020 Q5 4 cylinder. The manual recommends Castrol EDGEŽ ProfessionalŽ 0W20 Long Life IV. Where is a good place to buy it with a low price? Also wanted to ask if there is another brand of oil I can use that meets Audi's spec? Thanks in advance!

I have Audi Care on mine, so I let the dealer handle it, but you’re looking for VW 508 spec oil. I think the list of manufacturers is quite limited at the moment. Castrol (obviously), Motul, Total, etc have oils that meet the spec.

I have AudiCare. But I also, on my dime have an oil change at the 5000 mile mark. My dealer has told me that at any time the oil is low to stop by and they will top it off (have 19,000 and never had need).
At any rate, don't know if the offer of free topoff is a gratuity from my dealer, comes with Audi Care or is from Audi. Might want to check and save yourself a buck or so if your dealer is convenient to you.

The dealer is about 25 miles away from me so not convenient to drive there for a top off.

How much does the Audi dealer charge for a liter of oil if I purchase it from the parts dept? Checking online and shipping cost is more than the oil.

Strat, do you have a VW dealer nearby? They'd also have the oil for you.

Some people have found that the dealers have the best pricing on these specialty VAG oils.

I get mine through ECS. It is $7.12 a quart. Free shipping over $49. Make sure you get 508/509 spec oil. The Wal-Mart link above does not show any Castrol Professional Long Life IV - which is what is 508/509. They look similar but aren't.

After seeing this thread, since I've been spending more time in the 2019 Q5 and re-coding via iOS OBD Eleven, I checked my oil level this AM and was surprised that at 2750 miles, it was 1/4 quart low (MMI). I called my closest stealership (Audi Pacific in Torrance) and was told that I could just drive up to the service valet and they could top it off. It was a little confusing with their new COVID-19 set up where the sign points to the Executive Services (Oil Change) to go to the back. I went there and didn't see anyone initially, but then an employee came out of the service bay area and said to go back up to the main entrance and the service valet there could take care of it.

After I rolled up, he asked how he could assist and I showed him my MMI oil level. He said, no problem and after I popped the hood. He grabbed a quart of the Castrol 509 spec 0-20W oil and topped off my oil. I saw him empty the entire bottle so I was concerned that it was going to overfilled, but I guess that bottle wasn't full b/c after the 2 minutes, it was exactly where it needed to be.

Excellent service Audi Pacific. (they didn't even check me in or scan anything). In and out.

I hope this bit of oil burn doesn't become problematic going forward.
