A local dealer once told me MY2022 Q5e would be ready for order by as early as the end of April. Today the same dealer told me they had no idea about when they can place an order. My current lease will end by October, and I would hope to get the new car delivered by that time....
Any info is highly appreciated!
My dealer ordered a Q5 45 for me this week, changed an already allocated order he had entered earlier this week when he first got '22 Q5 allocations. I don't know if he had any "e" allocations, or if they are separate from 45 allocations, but mine is in process, estimated 8/08 to 8/28 ETA but that may well change, he said. The build sheet for a '22 45 is attached.
Background: Long relationship, no deposit, have treated me very fairly on a number of sales, deal directly with the sales manager. Said he would be about what they did on my '20 A5, a few hundred over cost and any offers Audi comes up with then. Hard to be precise when he has no specifics other than the MSRP and invoice, and whether or not I trade anything or go Cavanna or CarMax route on disposing of the other car (Honda from one of their other stores). I was in the car business once, so maybe I'm too trusting!!

I called another dealer today which is ~1.5hr away from me. The salesperson sent me the order guide for MY2022 Q5e.
However, this salesperson also told me that although I can order one now, they do not have any price information at this moment. Therefore he was unable to tell me anything regarding possible discount, and hopefully his manager can give me more information next week.
I am wondering given the current circumstance (e.g., chip shortage) and this is a new MY car, what % discount I should aiming for? I know this can be affected by many factors, but any thought or recent purchasing info are much appreciated!
There have been a bunch of media reports that the '22 won't be available until the new year in the US. Is that out-of-date?
Placed our order today. "Tentative Date" for ETA was 10/5-25. With global supply chains disrupted to varying degrees, hopefully this date does not get pushed into 2022 (but it might - who knows?).
Hi Unagi, I ordered mine with 6% off MSRP. I am in a small market and it is very difficult to negotiate price. I put $1k non-refundable deposit.
The sales person told me: 1. they will put my order in the system immediately, 2. I have a 2~3 weeks to change my mind about the color / options, 3. he expects to see the car by late Sept. to early Oct.
