Not to digress as I generally agree with your statement, however I just traded in my 2016 M3 where I was the second owner with 44k miles on it. I traded it for my now 2018 SQ5. Just had twin boys and the M3 wasn't cutting it for family duty. In short, it's not always financial related. Requirements can change.

We are on our 3rd Q5 and have never had an issue with any of them but I don't think I would own any German car without a warranty.

I am still shopping for a 2018 SQ5 in my price range. On a whim today, I decided to call the local Audi dealership which has performed all service up to this point before the car was traded at Toyota. I specifically questioned the air dam damage on 5/8 which I had assumed was the bottom under car plastics. The dealership read me all notes on the repair and the "air dam" as noted on car fax was actually a wind defector around the sunroof that had to be repaired. The Audi dealership offered to do a full inspection on the car for $299 if I was interested and reviewed other records on the car with me.

So - given that it looks like the car was not in any sort of accident should I still shy away just based on the 42k miles? Asking price is 40k out the door, tax title etc for a 2018 Prem Plus SQ5.
