Default Thinking of a 2019 SQ5 Prestige model

$40k for 47k miles. not CPO. only 30day 1k mile warranty from Audi dealer.

Firstly, previous owner was a smoker... and I'm not. It's not extreme, I think filters, cleaning, and an ozone machine would get rid of most of it.
Doesn't seem to have any glaring issues but it is missing the roof rails which I understand were a standard option. I would like them as I usually canoe/kayak/camp with my jeep.
Second, no tow package. I'd like to have a trailer receiver, is this difficult to add aftermarket? ]\

Anything else specific I should be on the lookout for? Two previous owner's seemed to take good care of it aside from the smoking scent.

I haven't looked at any prices, but $47K just seems high to me for a 4-year old car with essentially no warranty. I bought mine new in January 2021 for about $61 (it's a Premium Plus, not a Prestige though). I think if I were you I'd look at a new one. You get essentially zero miles, a clean smoke free car, new tires, new brakes, 4 years warranty, etc.

The SQ5 is a really nice car though, so good choice on the brand and model.

Yeah I'm starting to lean away from it based on it's conditions. There's another one I'm looking at that has 28k miles for $47k, CPO for 1 year and doesn't smell like smoke. I think I should pull the trigger but they're stubborn about pricing, they won't work with my bank and are really pushing to finance through them.

I had a 2019 SQ5 with air suspension.

It was the most unreliable car I have ever owned bought new. In four years the repair bills would have been well over 5k for all the warranty things that needed to be fixed. Air suspension, rear lights, leaky roof, dead battery caused by failed alternator were just a few of the things that failed.

It was sold just prior to the new car warranty running out. I wouldn't' think of buying one of these cars unless it came with a long cpo warranty. All the above repairs occurred within 17k miles from brand new.

I just recently got a 2021 b9.5 premium plus. 24k miles for 46k. Cool thing about the newer body style is a lot of the prestige features of the b9 come with the b9.5 premium plus. Heads-up display doesn’t do much for me and that’s all I feel it’s missing compared to the 2018 prestige I was looking at prior.

That price is way high. My 21 SQ5 has a residual of 36k and that’s with a limit of 30k miles. I have a premium plus with sport package sport exhaust etc.

I also have that. Find me a link to a clean 2021 sq5 with under 30 k miles those options for 36k you will 100 percent not find that.

Bumping my own thread.

Does anyone know specific changes between the 2018/2019/2020 models?

The 2019 I was thinking of sold , I don't regret it because I'm finding some other good deals, particularly on a 2018.

2018 has potential rocker arm issues I’d go as new as you can as 19 and 20 had improved versions. Although failures are minimal why risk it.
19 also has wireless charging not a huge thing but a difference.

I really like the new front fascia on the b9.5 - but that is just me. I also really like the old style circular S digital dash instead of the b9.5 hockey stick.

you win some, you lose some.

I would look into - CPO def but also to see if the one you're looking at has Audi Care. That transfers and when I bought my 2018 A5 6spd a few years ago it came with Audi care. I didn't even know until it dropped it off at the dealership for a major service and the bill came back free.

that was a nice surprise.
