Default Powder coat roof rails !

I would like to know if there is anyone who knows how to remove the roof rails because I would like them to powder coat gloss black thank you for your help.

The roof rails look better silver I think, it's the other silver parts I feel iffy about.

Is the whole car black, because if not I don't think you need it.

People, you missed the question.
The question was does anyone know how to remove the rials, not what's your opinion on my painting them Black.

You could ask a body shop or at an Audi dealership.
I suspect they are bolted up through the bottom so you probably have to remove the headliner to access the mounting hardware.
I don't honestly know the answer though.

Not sure what year is your Q5, this link has all the parts and diagram for models up to 2016. I find this site very useful when searching for part #s or how to take things apart. Here is a direct link to 2016 Q5 roof rail. There are 4 bolts.

I know with an X5 you had to drop the headliner and it looks like that from michaelvphams post. Maybe do a good tape job and Plastidip spray it? Also whether they will hold shape from the heat of powder coating.

agree with above. Tape n Drape (or alot of newspaper and green painters tape) and PlastiDip it in place. peel off and overspray and your good. You'll probably have it coated, dried and cleaned up in less time than taking the rails off
