Oil change needed in seven days?
Hey all, 9.5 month old 2021 Q5e with 7.1k miles. Oil change needed timer started counting down a couple of days ago. I’m putting on average 750 miles a month on the car and was wondering if I should really pay attention to the count down timer or wait for the 10k mark like I’ve always done in the past (FWIW I own the car flat out. If it was a lease I wouldn’t car.). Thanks.

It's 12 months or 10k miles but the 12 months started counting when your car left the factory, so you should do the first scheduled service now.
If you don't do your own oil changes and plan to keep the car, get Audi Care which covers the first 4 scheduled services and includes the expensive transmission service at 40k miles. Audi Care is usually considered a good deal unless you prefer DIY.

My local dealership adviser told me the one year is from the time of delivery not build date. My clock started early as well and I scheduled an appointment for it's first service. I was well under the 10k miles and one year of ownership. They cancelled the appointment and told me to bring it in when I'm just shy of the one year mark since I'll still be way under 10k miles. I also purchased AudiCare.

I feel the reluctance, I just took my Q5e in for the first service yesterday. I wanted to ask if the servicing was really needed seeing that 70% of the driving has been done with electric and basically only 3,000 miles were on the gas motors oil. I purchased the vehicle at the end of February right after the Texas freeze. I would've reached the service quicker had the vehicle not been in the shop twice for electric system messages coming up on the virtual cockpit and being rear ended which had it in the shop for almost 3 weeks because of thanksgiving/supply chain. Without loaners and the rental car I would probably be closer to 15,000 miles easily.

Change it.
10k between changes is about 5k too long IMO if your looking to keep the car long term. That’s something a dealer makes up when they are trying to convince you that their service package is worth it.
Unless you’d like to increase your odds of posting oil consumption threads in the future…

Has anybody made a list of Audi-spec engine oils? Just wondering if a person would like to change every 5000 miles, with the interim change done at a quick change shop, what kind of oil to tell them to use.

Depending on how long a car is in inventory, we would change the oil again prior to delivery and update inspection stickers as well for new buyers. Not an issue now, as very few cars arriving and most are presold, or don’t stay in stock long.
