I used Vaseline sparingly and it did not smear or streak. But it didn’t last either. I would say in an emergency short term situation it could be used if the noises are driving you nuts until the blades can be replaced.

Wish Audi did inserts like Acura does. Super cheap and much less wasteful.

But either way, replace your wipers. Not a place to try to save money IMHO.

Yea, I would do that right after waxing the windshield with Simonize.

(Note, don't use Simonize on your windshield. I can report, from long ago high school age experience that it is a surpremely bad idea.)

short version: they all wear out after 6 months so change them. probably doesn't matter as much which ones you get.

I've had my Bosch Icon Clearmax 365 for 2 years and they are still going strong with no streaking/chatter.

My new Bosch Icons came in today via UPS. Very well packed (I was concerned that the carrier might squash the blades before they got here) and arrived safely.

For an SQ5, the factory installed adapter has to be removed and replaced with #4. The Bosch video on YouTube on how to remove the factory adapter is a bit misleading - it shows a woman's hands easily snapping it off. However, the removal in the video must have been done many times before recording, because the adapter is virtually impossible to remove straight out of the box. Hint - run it under hot water and it comes off relatively easily.

Just checked with the windshield washer, and they don't scrub and wipe well. Cost of the set was something north of $50. Heading to Atlanta for Thanksgiving and may still have rain from the storm system moving through the southeast now. We've had no substantial rain since early August - maybe 3/4" total, most of that in drizzle or amounts under 0.10".

bummer. Next time try Trico Exact Fit. They come with the correct adapter style. No need to hodge podge together an adapter that fits from a jumble of plastic parts from the box. They just go straight on.

Costco ones still require you to snap out the adapter for your wiper bar, but not hard (just twist it up and push it put), and About $10 a pop. Just saying....
