Default Interior windscreen cleaning

Boring thread I know...

I got a bunch of smudge on the interior of the windscreen, tried to clean it with a spectacle cloth, but just can't get the screen super clear. Become very apparent and distracting when there is oncoming traffic with headlights.

Any know if it's ok to use household glass cleaner to get a streak-free clean? Any other suggestions?

I didn't check the above link, but I've always used newspaper with glass cleaner to clean auto glass. I have noticed that vehicles built in the last few years seem to have an unusually tough film on them that is extremely difficult to remove.

Some of that film is believed to be from out gassing of vinyl and plastic. Try vinegar to remove the film followed by glass cleaner.

AMMO NYC is very good at detailing. I think I've watched all his videos.
I have always had problems getting the windshield clear until a couple years ago. The film on the inside (if you don't smoke) is outgassing, like lowjdml said, from the plastics. What I do is clean with whatever glass cleaner makes you happy and a clean cloth. I use a edgeless microfiber cloth and Sprayway or Invisible glass cleaner. Then I take a dry magic eraser(the white ones about the size of a cell phone) and go over the glass a couple times. I do this on the outside and inside. The magic eraser takes away all the streaks and the glass is crystal clear. There is video of a car detailing guy doing this on youtube but not sure who he is at this time. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip on the magic eraser.

Also, if using a dryer for towels/cloths, don't use the Bounce type sheets in the dryer. The residue they leave on the towels will leave streaks.

Simple and cheap.
1.Wipe glass with with dry microfiber
2 Clean with microfiber cloth dipped in methyl alcohol (or isopropyl).
3. Wipe with microfiber cloth sprayed with glass cleaner (any).
