Getting 220V line installed today
I am coming from a 2020 A6 and definitely glad I made the switch over to the Q5 hybrid. I love all the tech in the prestige package and so far I'm loving the EV life. Getting my 220 line installed in my garage today.

Great! You’ll love EV life even more with level 2 charging at home. These are really amazing vehicles.

Glad I went hybrid instead of all electric. Was at a Tesla charging station the other day and talk to some of the other all electric drivers. Definitely like the capability of throwing gas in and not having to worry about charging up when in the middle of nowhere.

$590. They had to put in a subpanel on my outside panel because there's not enough room. Punch through the garage wall and mounted the 220 receptacle on the inside. I do not like touching electricity myself especially 220.

that is a great price! I know someone who had a 220/240 outlet installed in their garage and it cost $1,200. Before you ask it was a straight forward installation. Panel had room for the new breaker and was on the same floor in the room next door to the garage.

They had to add an additional sub panel to my outside box. THey moved some lower amp circuits to the new sub panel and then put the 50Amp breaker in the original panel. Saved a bunch of $ since there was minimal wire run. It was just mounted on the outside wall of my garage and the punch a whole through the cinderblock and mounted the receptacle on the inside. Everything was done in NEMA housings so looks good. I heard that electrical cable is very expensive these days.

Slapping another panel on just to relocate existing circuits, adding the new charger outlet isn't a great idea unless they calculated the load of the house and if the house actually has the capacity to take more load on. Unless you have good fire insurance.
