Default Brake noise/loud squeal - new SQ5

Just got our new SQ5, I noticed some noise from the right passenger brake under slow deceleration. Today after some highway driving I noticed it to be loud squealing. I chalked it up to it being new (under 500 miles) and the brakes getting worn in (if that's a thing). Is this anything to worry about? no juddering, car stops fine, no faults are coming up in odbeleven either.

Haven't heard of Q5/SQ5 vehicles having this issue. I know the Q7s did have an issue which was handled by a TSB. Have you tried bedding in the brakes? 2-3 high speed stops in a row should do it.

Try this first. Get to some back roads, get it to 60, then brake very hard to a stop a few times.

Google "bedding the breaks" so you understand what you're doing and how to do it safely. Realize that the brakes will be spongy and require longer distances to stop when hot.

I made an appointment just in case but cancelled, but I will bed the brakes tonight, need to wait until later as I'm in the middle of Houston and not a lot of places I can accomplish this at. I'll see what they sound like tomorrow and if I need to reschedule the appointment.

After my car sits overnight and I start to drive in my neighborhood in the AM, I hear my brakes scraping on my first few stops. After that is goes away. Is this normal?

Mine did the same. The noise is the rust on the rotors from sitting overnight. Not to worry. My brake pads were still good at 88,000.

Thanks to both for your response.
I am glad to hear that it is not an issue, but sad that I will have to listen to that every day.

Are your rotors getting wet EVERY day? Up here in the north we garage our cars, and the ONLY time this happens is when we put them away wet from rain or snow. When we park them dry for even a week this does not happen.
