My dealer in Connecticut said they do not perform state inspection. Is it common for Audi dealer not to offer state inspection service? I am new to Audi and have always had inspection done at the Toyota for our 2017 Highlander. I live in NY, 25 min from CT-NY border.

Audi dealers do state inspections in Mass or at least they did before our shutdown.

Must vary by state. I just had mine done in PA.

The Audi dealer in Reno, Nevada does not. They take the vehicles a block away to an independent test site.

I think it's just a question of whether the dealer wants to invest in the state required equipment for the number of inspections that they would be doing.

It probably varies state to state assuming there's an annual inspection requirement. Some states may view it as a 'fox guarding the hen house' and don't permit the selling dealer to perform the inspection.

Car dealers in MA are allowed to perform inspection on vehicles they sell.

Not sure what kind of inspection you are referring to. I am in CT and my dealer can perform the CT inspection which is emissions only. They are a CT "certified inspection station"also and can do it for any other make/model. All they do is plug into the OBD port and make sure they emission monitors have run and there is no check engine light on. There are a ton of places that do the CT inspection that are not dealers

I failed my state inspection for having an exhaust that was too loud. The guy said they sell **** that you can bolt/stuff into the exhaust tips to instantly quiet it down. He said if I do this, he'll pass me. Any idea what he could be referring to...I only have 7 days to get it quite... Thanks
