You can see it just above and to the right of the arrow. It's about the size of a silver dollar coin. Turns out, that wasn't a solution. I am still intermittently hearing the noise. On to plan B. Like an above poster, I am wanting to get behind the panel and determine if something on the inside is loose and causing the rattle. My fear is that I'll break a tab or something else when removing it. Or that I won't be able to re-attach it.

As I've said: Use a wood or plastic butter knife to carefully peel off the cover. Do not use any metal tool.

Yep, got all that. I even have specific tools for removing automobile trim pieces. Nevertheless, breaking a tab is always a possibility

If you open the glove box, you will see a small notch (about 5mm or 1/4"). It's near where the yellow arrow was pointing the the photo I posted. That's where you initially pry. Once you separate slightly that area, slide your tool toward the top and continue prying. The piece should easily pop off. There are three metal clips that hold it on. I found nothing inside that seems to be moving enough to rattle. There is no fuse box in this area like there are on some Audi models. Whether it will solve anything, I applied a small amount of high viscosity silicone grease to the metal clips before carefully replacing the panel. We'll see what happens.

It's not like a door card. This side panel pops off easily. Done multiple times in this car and previous Audi's. Never an issue. The pic may help. The lower dash is also removed as i was fitting the drivers side (right hand drive car) storage compartment.
