Default Any Audi Connect Prime discounts?

Audi connect prime recently expired on my 2019 Q5 (1/23/2020). I have read about some workarounds using Sirius traffic, but has anybody received any information about promotions or special rates for re-signing up for Audi Connect? The current price structure that I have been quoted is $199 for 6 months, or $499 for 18 months. If you have, how long before you started receiving the offers? Thank you.

Had my sq5 since jan 18 and haven’t seen a single promo since it expired. If it was reasonable, I would have reactivated, but just use CarPlay and haven’t missed it for a second

And no more Google Earth on 2018 models. Mine just disappeared... So basically I have traffic and red light timer where available. Not worth it anymore for me.

How come it is disappeared? Does 2018 models not have the 3 year subscription? What do you see now in your virtual cockpit? No map anymore? if so, then that whole virtual cockpit would be useless after the Audi Connect expires pff

You still see the normal map... just not the Google Earth version... Dropping support for it (and charging the crazy prices) is huge mistake on Audi's part IMO.. .they should bundle all this stuff into their overinflated prices for owners... paying 60K+ for a "luxury" vehicle... the Kia/Hyundai's of the world don't nickle and dime their customers - and they are going to put a HUGE dent into Audi's sales moving forward.

Google Earth still works until the end of this year for 2018 models, if you subscribe to Audi Connect. I ran into a problem with the MyAudi app not communicating with the car. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and found that my older Samsung S5 was no longer supported. I upgrade my phone to solve that problem but Google Earth had disappeared. Solution - log back into Audi Connect in the car's MMI menu. Drop Audi Connect and you lose traffic as well as Google Earth.

I would like to have traffic show up on the virtual cockpit. I read in a thread on this site that some people are using an OBD11 device, changing some codes, then getting Sirius to add in a traffic function, for about $4/month. Can anyone share a screen shot of how the Sirius traffic looks on the virtual cockpit? Would it basically be the same traffic view I would see if I paid for Audi Connect? Any downsides of doing this workaround (besides time to set up)? Thank you.

PS. I have used Android Auto a few times to show Waze, but it only shows up on the MMI screen, and I would prefer I see traffic on the virtual cockpit (which seems to disappear except for a compass displaying whenever I plug in my phone for Waze).
