Default 18" Wheels on SQ5?

I've seen posts from people running 18" wheels on their SQ5 and Tire Rack lists this size as compatible. I'm looking for confirmation on 2021/22 vehicles (have brakes or other specs changed?) before pulling the trigger on winter wheels and rubber for my new sled (I really value taller sidewalls for crappy roads, not to mention the cost savings over time). Also, ET seems to be in the mid-30s, is that correct?

If TR says it works your good. I went with 235-60 18 for my TR Winters and Rial wheels that use OEM lug bolts and no plastic centering rings.

I just ordered a winter wheel and tire package from TireRack for our 21 SQ5. I got Bremmer 18x8 wheels with Michelin Latitude Alpin 255/55 x 18 tires. I checked with the online assistant and he said that they would work without any issues

The SQ5 gives quite a bit of latitude in terms of offset. Anything tire rack sells for the SQ will work for sure. I am currently running a 20x9" with an offset of 41 and its fine. The 9" pokes out further then stock and runs inboard way more the stock as well. (11mm more poke and 15mm less inner clearance)

Keep a close eye on the date/year stamps on your tires too. TireRack just sent me a set of tires from 2018. I was not happy about it but they didn't have anything newer. They did knock $200 off the price tag.

Just a public service announement - if your winter wheels use different lugs (like conical v.s. the OEM ball seats) remember to stow 5 OEM lugs with your spare tire, in case you need to mount it by the side of the road.

Yes I can confirm 18” work on ‘21SQ5 as I had a 18” wheel setup for my prior SQ5SB and Tirerack confirmed the wheels would fit but I needed SUV sized tires and they recommended this setup versus using a larger rim size as larger sidewall better against potholes, etc.

The new winter tires and 18” wheels do work and clear the calipers and have been installed on my “21SQ5SB. My vehicle runs well and the speedometer is running accurately, was a concern this may be off due to smaller wheel size. That said, the change in appearance is dramatic from the 20” wheels and I now wish I used the 19” wheels instead. Also, oddly my headlight beams seem to be lower now and don’t illuminate as far down the road as before. Again, I can’t confirm this latter change but the light throw does seem short now but I can’t explain why.

The front disks on the B9 Q5 are only 350 mm and 18" wheels fit with some margin. I run a set of Enkei Raijin 18" wheels with 255/55-18s - purchased from Tire Rack. I chose the Raijin's as the rims are flow-formed and significantly stronger than cast.

I run 19s on my 014 SQ5 and it's a nice look

That and it is a good idea to check if your lug wrench fits your Winter wheels. There is a real good chance it does not due to a much deeper counter bore.
It is a good plan to carry a breaker bar and deep socket anyway.
