My wife and I are hoping this is the case for 2011. We don't need the power of the V6 and would prefer the economy of the 2.0t

Exactly! Add to that the fact that the 2.0 has more torque (256 lb/ft vs. the 3.2's 247 lb/ft) at lower rpm than does the 3.2 and I think I'll wait for it.

i wonder if it will. the smaller engine could hurt the q5's image. and people over here don't really like diesel much....

i wish it were here without a doubt.

the 3.0 diesel will prolly neve be seen because that would take away from q7 id imagine.

In Europe and particulary in Belgium 65% of all Q5 are 2,0 TDI's and 25% 3,0 TDI's
2,0 TFSI's are a minority and 3,2 TFSI's an brilliant exception
all this doesn't hurt the Q5's image

perfectly !
I have a 2,0 TDI and it is by far quicker than my former 2,6 V6 A4
you only have to get used with a totally other engine sound
these littel (but powerfull) diesels are to be run as a smooth bigger gas-engine, on torque

Well, the hybrid Q5 will be in the US next year, so dont expect the 2.0 anytime soon.

The Q5 is selling quite well for Audi, the V6 in the Q5 outperforms the competition (power and fuel economy.) The V6 fits also works because all of the competitors have V6s as well. I don't see Audi going with the 2.0T at this point in time.
