My volume control on the center console just stopped working. It still turns on/off the radio and mutes it, but the turning it does nothing to the volume. My steering wheel volume control still works. It's been 2 days now and I'm still hoping it will fix itself. I've had a few odd Gremlins from time to time, like the auto up/down window feature not working, but this Gremlin fixed itself after just 1 day.

Anyone else have odd Gremlins similar to above ?

Yes, mine refused to adjust the volume when listening to SiriusXM, from either console or steering wheel. The volume display was grayed out and it said it was currently unavailable. Worked fine from all the other sources. Then a couple of days later it worked again before I could take it in to have it looked at. No idea what caused it.

How to reset up/down windows:
- press switch to open the windows, hold switch "open" for min 5 seconds when the windows are fully down,
- pull the switch and hold switch in "close" position for an additional 5 seconds after they are fully closed.

This will reset the windows. It's a common for VW/Audi

My windows did not need a reset to start working properly again. Like I said, the auto feature just suddenly stopped working for a day and the next day it was fine again.

And now my volume **** is also working again, but intermittently. I find all this a little odd and a bit disconcerting. Makes me wonder if a more critical system, like my steering, might suddenly stop working... however, I suspect/hope that these bugs are isolated to the MMI system.

That would worry me as well. You should take your Q5 into the dealer and bring up the issue.

Sure this is an old thread but this issue just came up a few days ago. Thought my vehicle was immune to bugs since it's been flawless for 2 years and has only 14k on the clock.

Volume **** on center console didn't control volume whatsoever. Muted and skipped tracks just no volume. Steering wheel volume still worked.

I figured it was an MMI issue so I performed the 3 button reboot. Low and behold center console volume **** started working again. Even resumed the iPod from the last played song.

Hope this helps anyone else with this issue.
