Top Speed
Has anyone here truely opened on their Q5? I have taken mine up to 120 MPH it got up there very quickly and was rock solid. It says that it is limited to 130 MPH. I really would like to see what its like when the limiter kicks in.....maybe one day.

It is electronically limited to 130 mph. It can definetly go higher but you would need to disable the speed limiter and also go with higher speed rated tires. I think if you check tire rack the tires on the prestige and prem + is rated at 130 mph.

Here in Ontario, 94+ MPH (150 KMH) will automatically get you a charge of racing or dangerous driving. Automatic $10,000 fine and (on-the-spot) 1 week impoundment of your car!

Hm... there must be a lot of adventurous drivers in Ontario then. I lived in Ottawa for 6 years and made many trips to Toronto on highway 401. Almost every time there was a stream of fast cars on the left lane driving at around 150km/h.

i turn mine off. it gets annoying because it covers up the digital speed read out. i hate that the Q5's speedo goes to 180 MPH, it can only go 130 so why not cap it at 160 like most cars do and make the spacing greater so you can read it easier. when it beeps, i feel like its my radar detector going off. it is very easy to get carried away speeding in the q5.
