FYI 3.0TFSI not a new engine, the engine existed since 2008 but not in Q5 and hybrid exist from 2011

By the same token, the 2.0 with 252 HP is not a new engine either. It already exists in the A6.

My point is, it's already being used in other Audi applications (A6). Just like the 3.0T was already used in other Audi applications before it was added to the Q5.

I almost bought the 3.0T but instead decided on the 2.0T. It is plenty powerful, is very quiet for a 4cyl, saved me some $ and gets slightly better MPG.

It had heated seats and seat memory which we were told come with all models (even though the brochure specifically states that both of these amenities are on the premium plus packages).

I found the engine and ride to be very nice. I currently have a 2014 RDX which has a more powerful engine but I didn't notice any drop off in performance. The RDX seems to "glide" more if that makes sense. Almost as if it were a lighter, effortless ride if that makes any sense.

FYI, the start-stop can be deactivated in my '15 3.0T.

no its not. The 225 has a chain driven cam shaft, variable intake timing and in 2014.. a fifth fuel injector upstream in the intake.

211hp is very different form the 225 hp.

what are the differences in hardware between 225 and 211 hp which produce the 14hp increase??? Since engine is the same, is it just a revised ECU (more turbo boost, more revs, different mapping) or a new hardware part too??

After my firmware update forthe oil consumption I had an EU6 option using VCDS which is available for the facelift engine but I could not enable that option (request out of range). Does it mean I have the new 225HP ECU firmware???.

Highlights of the Gen2 TFSI were the Audi exhaust valve lift system and a pressure- and volume-flow-controlled oil pump. With Gen.3, Audi introduced a double-flow exhaust manifold integrated in the cylinder head; an electrical cooling water control; an electric wastegate; and the dual injection system (earlier post)—a combination of direct and manifold injection that helps control particulates.

So there are differences. Gen 2 EA888 (2009-2012) vs gen 3 EA888 (2013-2016).

The star engine is Audi’s third-generation 2.0-litre turbo-petrol, which is making its global debut in the Q5. Power is up 10kW to 165kW, while torque is unchanged at 350Nm. Combined fuel economy drops 0.6L/100km to 7.9L/100km and CO2 emissions 15 grams to 184g CO2/km. The 2.0 TFSI accelerates to 100km/h in a claimed 7.1 seconds.

Technical highlights of the new DOHC 16-valve engine include the combination of part-throttle port-injection and heavy-throttle direct-injection to cut fuel consumption and emissions; variable valve timing on both inlets and exhaust, as well as exhaust valve lift control; electronic management of the wastegate of the variable-geometry turbo; an integrated exhaust manifold and a 7kg weight reduction.
