Default Sunstrip / Tintbar sources?

This time of year with sun low is causing some intense blindless on the road between the mirror and the visor. My Toyota had extendable sun visors, but not the Q5.

Anyone ever have a short tinted Sunstrip (or Tintbar) added to their windshield? Any recommended sources for such an item?

Would like have one that fades a bit to the bottom, but I don't think that's possible. Pre-Cut would be nice too.

I have the same issue. there are no pre-cut available, but I have talk to many of the local tint shops and they can do it..

but many of the tint shops guys did mention. "We can do it, but you may or may not like it"

no fading type tints available as far as i know.

The sunglasses holder makes a great visor for that spot.

Thanks.

What percentage did you use? Hardly looks noticeable on the outside, but is the inside difference as noticeable as the photo shows?

The visors on my 2013 are extendable. I showed this a friend of mine on his 2013. He thought they were not extendable, too.

the visor tint is 5% "limo" tint, owner of the tint shop recommended. which i agree. here is better photos at 8:30AM.

it more noticeable from the inside of the car as from the outside. I don't have to wear my sun glasses much after the visor tint. the glare manageable now.

however, one major factor to consider as i have also tinted my front passenger and driver side windows at 18% which may give you the illusion of a darker cabin lighting VS lighter tint on the front passenger and driver side window.

Oh crap!! They are extendable, but I never would have noticed had I not read this thread. Most cars I have seen have an extendable piece that slides out of the visor, but the Q5's visor slide along the arm it's mounted on. Of course it also took two days before I realized the steering actually can extend towards you and not just up and down!

I'm sure your tint guys will know this, but most states have a law that tint can't be further than a certain amount from the top...
IIRC, in Texas it's like 5 inches, but most windshields will have a tiny line on the sides that show the lowest point...

(and you CAN get stopped by the LEO's for that )
