I love to hear of you guys travelling at 75-85 mph. Here in Australia if I was to travel at that speed I would be booked and lost my licence in no time. We have highway patrols and hidden cameras all waiting for us. Our highway limit is 100 km with some 110km. I occasionally reach 130-140 but only where I know there are less patrols. It's a shame to have to drive an Audi at such low speed. If I don't drive over 100 our 2 litre TDI will run on less than 6 litres per 100 km. I love it and don't care if they never fix the emission problem.

AudiCare provides piece of mind - I haven't had to have anything done besides oil changes. Diesels minimally require AdBlue refills that the 2.0 does not. But driving the two is night and day. I drove the 2.0. liked it but wasn't in love with it. Drove the 3.0 and liked the additional power compared to the 2.0. Drove the TDI last and it was a rocket with great gas mileage. Performance is effortless. The 2.0 felt like it was straining, the 3.0 fixed that, but the TDI was clearly my favorite.

I made it from Salt Lake City to Santa Fe, New Mexico, on one tank. That's 627 miles over ten and a half hours with zero refuels and zero problems. Yes the low fuel light was aglow when we arrived but still, not too shabby. The TDI is just a fantastic engine for road trips.

Just don't take it to the dealer when they come up with the "fix" for the diesel scandal... they will probably totally screw up the reasons we like the vehicle in the first place!

Just to let you know that those of us with the A6 TDI are equally amazed (before any 'fix')...

Returned from a round trip today, Cleveland to Cincinnati and back to move one of my college kids....500 miles all on a half tank of gas (yes, I know while the gauge says half, probably more). Note that I have gone 500 miles, with 270 calculated more to go...Straight freeway driving is 43+ mph calculated at the pump (on board calculator says 45; this tends to be higher than actual calcs)....

Yes last fall I took a little drive out west, Montreal to British Columbia to visit my sons.Covered 5300 km (3300miles) in 3 days. What a blast ! This machine is made to gobble up miles.Composed and powerfull.Great tunes on the jukebox. What more could you ask for. This is my favourite pic.traveling across Saskatchewan using a Hemi Durango as my rabbit and we never dropped below 140kph.The Diesel said oh ya bring it on ! I know taking pictures at the wheel is pure evil.By the way that's Imp.mpg.so not as impressive as it seems LOL

We have a 2013 Passat tdi, just drove it from Oregon to Arizona, 1200plus miles, 4 ppl in the car, car fully loaded with the cargo box on top, averaged 38mpg with heavy foot. I just love this car, this is my wife's car, but it is a great, great engine. Have another 2k to drive in the next few days to get back home, no complains from me

And you can sell it back for good money. Free driving. What do you plan on doing?
