I don't even remember the last time I turn on the fogs. For me, it would be for the looks.

Default The rings don't seem to cut light output at all...

...far as I can tell the difference with or without, if any, is negligible.

I drive with fogs on most of the time because they help illuminate the road shoulders. Switched to Hoen fog lamps over a year ago to better match the Xenon headlights and provide even more more lateral light. IMO they look a lot better on the Q5 than the wimpy OEM fogs.

I just purchased a set of these. They came with the chrome cross slats as well. Is silicone the best adhesive option to attach these to my vehicle? I can see that the two sided tape will not work well at all but have never done anything like this before....

The double sided tape is working fine for me so far... Mine have been on for about 2 months now with no problems.

On the single ring the tape may suffice, but on the slated ones we rec'd, the double sided tape allowed some movement, so used some silicone as well...

a week or so and two drive through car washes and still good.

We ordered both the rings and the slats and temp mounted them for the 'user poll' and the vote was that the slats gave it a 'wider' base, so went with it.

Looks great, can't wait to get mine mounted. Is the little lady upset that you are posting pics again so the rest of us can steal your mods?
