Yes, it's official!!
I was ready to purchase a 2013 3.0T until I caught wind of the petrol TFSI SQ5 coming in June of last year:

This *WILL* be my next car. :-D
*edit*... I'm delightfully pleased that I was wrong about the HP numbers. :-)

The 3.0T is a fast machine, I have driven cars with both 3.0T and S with 3.0T and I really didnt notice a lot of difference. Id test drive them sequentially and then make up my mind.

Looks like a great car and I am drooling. Astounded the amount of power they are getting from the 3.0l motor and that there is really nothing from BMW or Mercedes, or anyone else (except the new baby Cayenne) for that matter, that competes.
However my practical side asks whether I will ever use all that S stuff in every day driving. There are diminishing returns the higher up you go and the regular 3.0T is plenty. For $60,000 odd I will rather get a dedicated sportster to get the cob-webs out weekends.
Looks like I will be saving $20,000 by taking delivery of a regular 3.0T in a few weeks, rather than waiting for the S, but continue drooling and be proud of the Vorsprung durch Technik.

Very nice indeed. With this SQ5 no mods needed. This looks to be putting out more HP and torque than my S5. Sweet indeed...lets see if the wife is willing to trade her '10 Q5 for this...hoping she will.

If it would have been here before I would have gotten the SQ5 however.
I feel the same tho. If I'm gonna plunk down another 60-70, it very well would be on an RS5

Comparison engines in SQ5 : TDI and TFSI
SQ5 3.0TFSI 260 kW (354 hp) 470 Nm /4000-4500 rpm 0-100 km/h 5.3s
SQ5 3.0TDI 230 kW (313 HP) 650 Nm /1450-2800 rmp 0-100 km/h 5,1s
TDI though it has 41 less horsepower has better acceleration from 0-100 km / h
This is due to the high torque TDI 650Nm comparing with 470 Nm .
Torque is the one who is responsible for the acceleration
