SQ5 dipstick
I see threads about dipsticks on the 2.0L cars and the 3.0 in the A6/7, but what do you have to do for a dipstick install in the SQ5? So far mine has been full to half way down on the monitor. All in the same night

Oil monitoring should not be only about quantity. I like to see, smell, and feel the oil. OK I draw the line at tasting it! We humans can detect oil contaminants such as coolant, fuel, solids, and odors that the MMI can't.

Take a look at this link, small photo stream included on listing that shows the plug where the dipstick goes. I installed one of these in my Q5 3.0 reads perfect.

I didn't go through all 3.0 models and the tech that installed my APR stage 2 pulley/tune also told me to just get the s4 dipstick. The only real engine difference between the 3.0 and SQ5 is ecu tune/exhaust so it should work. Plus it's pretty inexpensive on the audi scale of parts! :-)

Thats why they removed them, they dont want people to really see how bad the oil gets at 10-15k miles for oil changes....Same with transmissions. They dont want people to see the lifetime fluid turns jet black in 50-60k miles right where ZF says to service it....

Ya know what - I think you're on to something here. Nobody likes to see mud in their crankcase

Ya, vell, first you void your warranty by removing the secret cap on the dipstick tube. Then you install a terribly overpriced but readily available dipstick ($35? after shipping, versus $8 shipped or over the counter for an aftermarket dipstick) which most service advisors will tell you does not exist.
But they do exist, they can be ordered, and at least two of the mail-order Audi dealers are willing to simply sell them without argument. Of course, that's at 4x what a dipstick should cost, but it is a gen-you-whine Audi part.
I think I'm going to put a big KIA plaque over my rear trim, just to give the service guys some of their own medicine.
