The red MMI plus Cable

The red MMI plus Cable
All,
After reading several posts on the differences in MMI cables, I decided to ask the dealer if they had one that was the plus cable for the iPod, iPhone so that video and album art would show up on the MMI display. They did have the cable (red connector in lieu of blue connector). They swapped it out for free, and threw in a Q5 license plate surround kit that came with Q5 valve stem caps. These look much better than the plain plastic caps that came with the car.
I've read where some dealers are charging for that cable, but my dealer is super when it comes to client service. Sidebar, I didn't have anywhere near this level of committment from the Mercedes dealers that I dealt with in the past 10 years.
All-in-all. I think this is going to be the perfect car for this Architect to drive. Way to go Audi!

Any definitive answers on which model year or which software version is needed to utilize the red cable for album covers/videos? Wold love to get this functionality on my 2010.

Sorry for the delay. I have had a great deal of work to do getting ready to take some time off. Here is a picture of the red AMI cable.
