Rear Seat Entertainment Package
Thinking about ordering a Q5, and am curious about experiences with the rear seat entertainment package. Any issues thoughts overall?

Don't hold your breath on actual owner responses, as absolutely nobody ever orders it. I was looking into it as a built-in option for the kids, but apparently there's no capability to set the input from the front seat, so that was a deal breaker. Most people go aftermarket because it's a lot cheaper and they may do something like iPad mounting where the "units" can be removed and serve other purposes.

I did not nclude it. With Audi Connect and most people who are likely to ride any distance in the back seat having tablet computers these days (including our grand children), they can access anything they want (and probably a lot of things they don't want). Steve

My dealer had an example in a Q7. Screens look flimsy and mounted about an inch away from the back of the seat. Not a good idea with my kids.
I'd go tablets or aftermarket in the headrests...

RSE is probably the worst deal going as far as Audi options goes.
To be honest, Nav is also a very bad deal, but at least it has its uses. (perfect fit and finish, fairly flawless integration, etc)
With RSE, you can get MUCH better aftermarket for MUCH less.

You don't have to worry about it anymore.
As of yesterday, it's no longer available for order on a Q5 or a Q7.
They stick out to far and not flush mounted in the headrests and look stupid anyway.
That's why people aren't ordering it.

Another vote for the ipad. I just wish there was a better rear seat mounting mechanism. I spent $80 on something with an adjustable arm that promptly broke within a week.
Right now, my 3 year old just holds it in her lap, but when it comes time for a second, I'm going to need to attach it again.
