Question about Sealant & Wax
#11
It's actually very simple. Just remember a paint sealant will always give you longer durability against the elements. For a daily driven vehicle a paint sealant is the way to go. A good example of a paint sealant is Meguiars NXT liquid or paste wax. Now for a garaged vehicle or show car a car a Carnuaba based wax such as Meguiars Yellow Wax #26 would be the way to glow. With a Carnuaba based wax you will get that warm glow on the paint. I used primarily sealants on my paint finish since our cars are daily drivers and are exposed to more elements.

I am a huge GLOSS-IT fan. They make great products. Their tire shine is 100% no sling and their satin leather polish is not greasy at all. I use all their polish and wax with my Cyclo polisher.

81Coupe...I hope you didn't take my response wrong. I know everyone doesn't have the time. Those squirt things don't take the place of a good detail. Try and get it detailed good and touch up with the McGuires Express details. Post pictures!

Don't worry, I was never offended . It's really interesting how each of us has a different take on things, even though we are all enthused about the Q5.
As a matter if fact, I did post some pictures. And it's better than freshily detailed: it's freshly built!

Has anyone experience problems with the parking sensors after waxing, polishing, or clear coat protectant applications? I plan on detailing myself this weekend, and wanted to know if I had to look out for certain areas. Thanks for all your input.

I use a sealant on the freshly clayed surface for protection, then top it with a good wax to add shine and depth. Using a detail spray after every wash helps maintain the finish between waxes. I favor Chemical Guys products, so my standard arsenal includes CitrusWash, JetSeal 109, Butter Wet Wax and V07 detailer/sealant.
