Yeah that's commitment to the cause.Somewhere there's a German engineer feeling slightly nauseous LOL.

Wow that's close, looks like it'll rub when you take a turn.

Thanks! That really shows where the clearance problem is. I'm afraid that my ET39 wheels and 255/55/19's with 20mm won't cut it. I don't know that I'm man enough to take a grinder to the steering knuckle. Not saying you shouldn't have.

any idea how this steering knuckle works? i.e. if you take a turn would it rub or does that suspension part just rotate with everything else and the distance always stays the same?

Look up previous topics about 20” and 21” wheels. Basically there is very little clearance but no rubbing with the correct sizes, and the knuckle doesn’t move so you are good to go. For example, I have 265/40-R21 Pirelli Scorpion Zero all season plus, they are fantastic and no rubbing.

how much space between tire and knuckle? By my estimates stock tire sizing gives it .5” clearance

that being said the size I intend to use is .6” wider tire diameter meaning it would be .3” closer to the knuckle and .3” between the ground and tire. so 29” is the standard diameter, yours is 29.3” and my intended is 29.6”.

I have a set of Black Rhino 18" rims 5x112 with a -10 offset with 265/65/r18 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac I bought off someone for 40 dollars.. I have the H&R 1" raise springs all the way around, and a 30mm space in the rear with 27mm spacer in the front. Only have a little rubbing at full lock with the streering wheel, but the steering knuckle is clear by a hair. Love the look of it though!
