Default Q5 in traffic and torrential rain

Just did eight hours and 260 miles on I95 south of DC in awful stop and go and alternating torrential rain. The only good thing was how comfortable my 2.0T was and how well it handled when I was able to get up to speed.

At 70-75 mph, even in the heaviest downpour, the Q felt amazingly solid and secure on the road, never hydro planning even on some pretty deep puddles. I was very impressed with the way the rain sensing wipers adjusted their speed to the volume of water and did a great job maintaining visibility. By far, it was the most secure I have ever felt driving in those kind if conditions.

To top it off, even with all he stop and go traffic and running the AC the whole trip, I still averaged 28.6 mpg.

I was in the torrential rain as well on my commute home on Friday. It was probably the heaviest rain I've been in since I got my Q5. It handled it no problem! I also felt very secure. Quattro baby!

I've owned about 15-20 cars and my Q5 has outshined all others when it comes to performance in rain. Easily plows through high water where my previous cars would have had difficulty. The windshield wipers also have outperformed anything else I've owned when it comes to streak-free water removal.

it's true it works wonders in rain. Huge puddles and such, never pulls, never feels unstable. its great.

28.6 mpg in stop and go? Are you sure? I'm getting around 27 on highway and around 21-22 in city traffic. I can't imagine getting close to 29 in stop and go though. Just curious.
