Default The Q5 is a tank

We drove our 2014 Q5 TDI through the torrential California rains, and up to Tahoe through a blizzard and I have come out super impressed with the Q5. We're riding on all seasons (Pirelli Scorpion AS3), and this SUV handled highway puddles/rivers and snowy mountain roads. We travelled with friends who had a BMW X5, and it was quite amazing how much better the quattro system handles snow. They constantly got stuck, with all the wrong wheels spinning, and our Q5 just gripped after minor initial spinning. We never got stuck, never needed chains, and handled turns and braking really well. Since we are on all seasons -- it really must be the car!

So much snow, didn't even need to blur out my license plate

With snow tires, I've been impressed with the SQ5's ability to find forward traction, far better than my A4 from years ago, and almost as good as my Subaru's.

But backwards, uphill (and not very steep) ? Nope. Useless. There have been a couple times I've had to turn around and proceed forwards (luckily that was possible).

BTW why blur out your license plate? It's available for the world to see wherever you drive.

I've had them for about 20k miles, so not brand new, but not balding either.

Yah, didn't try driving backwards much, but forwards was very impressive, and we definitely hit some steep local roads on the way to the cabin. IDK, always felt weird posting that online, but I guess its moot since there was enough snow to cover most of the car just from the drive up the mountain.

Throw a set of proper snows on yours and it turns into a tank with the grip of a gecko. I run Nokians on mine in the winter, no comparison to all seasons in winter time. Sometimes late at night in the middle of a snow storm I have gone out wilding just to see what I can get away with
