Default Q5 hesitation when moving from stop

Anyone else experience a slight hesitation when you are at a full stop pressing on the gas? I mean that it feels like the Q5 sort of jolts forward abrudtly when you start to move after a stop.

If you have this issue, what did you do to fix it?

Mine feels like first gear hesitates a bit when getting going but then 2nd kicks in and all is well with the world. I wonder if its the stability control... hrmmm will have to try that out tomorrow to see if disabling makes a difference.

I have that as well and it drives me crazy. I'm constantly getting blown off the line by buses, minivans, etc..., until a couple seconds later when 2nd gear kicks in and then I rocket ahead... But those first couple seconds are painful.

There was another thread related to this, and the lack of 'roll' that the Q5 has (at least for some of us) when moving from a stop. I definitely have this issue and it's nothing like I've ever experienced in my other cards, or during my test drive.

I have my 5k checkup this week so I'm hoping they can fix it.

Does anybody know if the Q5 have a hill assist feature, I am thinking you guys are stepping on your brakes too hard when you are at a red light.
As far as the rolling issue, Audi usually rolls less than Japanese cars, it will lossen up after a while, but it will never roll like a Toyota.

Yes, it has. The button is on the centre console. I've used it once and it works well.

That is the down hill assist. Some cars have a hill start assist if you step on the brake real hard, it will retain the brakes for 3 seconds after you let go of the brakes so you wont slide backwards when starting from a hill.

Yes it has and there is no button or control it is automatic. As you say it holds the brakes on after your foot is lifted (I think it is 2 seconds) So ease your foot on the brake first or dont slam it on the fast forward lever.
It is fantastic for those of us who live on a hill but mildly irritating sometimes on the flat.
PS never drive an Audi with left foot braking, you cant rev against brakes. The brain police are alerted and kill it for two seconds. Actually try it sometime when safe to do so ...jus for fun.
