Default Q5 Airbags

So went to my local Audi dealer today and ordered my 2014 Q5 2.0T.

We were going through the features etc.

Blah blah... the car is equipped with 6 airbags so confidently said yeah front/side/curtain front & rear. But, no says my sales rep.... front/side/curtain front only. Apparently the rear curtain airbag is extra.

Knowing I'm right, went into a nearby Q5. Looked inside to only find a airbag label on the "A" pillar. My wives Tiguan has an airbag label at "A", "B" & "C" pillars. So wasn't able to prove my point.

I find it interesting that it isn't clearly labeled across each pillar like other brands.

Just incase I'm crazy and wrong I want a little confirmation from the experts.

Q5 comes standard with:
Driver and front passenger dual-stage airbags, front thorax side airbags and SideguardŽ head curtain airbags

Rear thorax side airbags are optional ($350 more).

It is a lot of people's opinion to skip out on the rear ones due to issues with child seats (will cause more harm than good if goes off). Probably the only time you would get them is if you plan on having no kids in the car

Default Personal view only, not giving guidance...

Caveat: you need to do what is right for you. Here's a few pieces of information FWIW:

prior thread:

NHTSA information:

Personal opinion: You can always put the car seat in the center, and when children get to a certain size/height, move them to the door seat.
