Q5 with 3.0 vs SQ5 with 3.0
#14
All the mechanical differences have been pointed out except for the exhaust system (including the delightful Soundaktor). The interior is also quite extensively SQ5-specific; the steering wheel is a delight to the hands and the stitching on the sport seats is very attractive.

my fully equipped Q5 3L (- no B&O stereo ) was still $5k less that the same stock level SQ5
From above you can see that both the Q5 and SQ5 have the same engine, compression ratio, and same size rear vented discs
the Q5 has a lower (better drag co-efficient), lower to the ground , lower width
The SQ5, bigger front discs, different ECU mapping, final drive, higher top speed, and stitching colour
IMHO, the optioned out 3L Q5 is a better deal. I do not want any glamour badges on my car.
My last BMW had the no badge from factory option. It only had a BMW badge front and back and NO model number anywhere as only i cared i was an M sport 530i. If you knew BMWs well, then you would know it a special car. But others on the street did not tell by looking at the non-existent badges. That is fine with me.
Note this is strictly my opinion for my own vehicles, others are pleased to do as these please and will receive no comment from me
